Release

Standing in the hot steamy shower. The hot water scalds his grimy soul. Layers. Swirling down the drain. The air. Steamy. Muddled. Each breath searing. Gasping.

His mind.  Chaos. Dark. Full of screams. Cacophony. Pitch getting louder. Rising to a peak. Breaking point. So near. Yet so far.

They needed a release. So did he.

Unlost

Unknown

Wandering between the chaos and cacophonies he drifted through life. Unlost yet captive. Till she waltzed into his commotion. Calmly taking charge, setting him free. All he saw was her eyes. Deep. Mysterious. He knew they were magic and was now bound. Under their spell he was lost and did not want to be found.

Flight

flying

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, –and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of –Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air…
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Immured

Something inside me shudders at the sight of a caged bird.
No birds belong in cages, no matter how much a man coveted their grace, no matter how golden the bars. They are far more beautiful soaring free. Heartbreakingly beautiful.
“I shall cage it again” said the man with a icy heart.
“I am willing to take a chance for the both of us” I said as she flapped her wings, dusted the sorrow and never looked back.
If only he could see the beauty of that empty cage!

Wind beneath my wings

“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you’re going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.”

Untamed

Just like us people there are birds who make great pets and then there are those who remain untamed, they are best described by what  Stephen king said  “Some birds are not meant to be caged, that’s all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure.”

I Fly!

photo(13)

I fly over the clouds, where angels dwell, chase sun rays around filling my pockets with star dust. Soar above the mountains of the sky, leaving footprints on them. My lungs swell with the freedom I breathe, eyes glitter with stars as I leave the earth behind. I sail around the oceans of the air, with my wings spread wide. I feel one with the skies and all these magical things, I am in love with the wind beneath my wings!
